Call for reviewers for McTaggart’s Paradox

Call for reviewers for McTaggart’s Paradox

Andrew Weckenmann, Editor of Routledge’s Philosophy division, is happy to make copies available for qualified persons who might be interested in reviewing the forthcoming book “McTaggart’s Paradox”. Please contact the author Valdi Ingthorsson (rognvaldur.ingthorsson@fil.lu.se) and he will arrange for a copy to be delivered as soon as they emerge from the press (sometime between 15 July-15 August). The book promises to offer a comprehensive and critical overview of the last century of debate about McTaggart’s argument for the unreality of time and to persuade the reader that both defenders and critics have been wrong about the argument. It presents a novel reading of what McTaggart meant to say and draws out the consequences of this reading for the contemporary debate between the A and B views of time as well as A-B hybrids. For instance whether the B view really is compatible with enduring and hence changing particulars and whether the Growing Block View, Moving Spotlight Theory, and various versions of Presentism, have any reason to worry about McTaggart’s Paradox. An extended abstract of the book is available on Ingthorsson’s website: https://rdingthorsson.wordpress.com/summary-of-mctaggarts-paradox/
